Washington says Al-Qaida in Colombian Jungle

WASHINGTON: AL-QAIDA NOW IN THE AMAZON JUNGLE
In a desperate ploy to justify increasing Washington's involvement in the Colombian civil war, the US State Department is bizarrely claiming that Al-Qaida and Hizbollah cells are active in the border area between Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.

Peru Says No to Joint Military Exercise with U.S.
LIMA, Peru (Reuters) - Peru withdrew its agreement for a joint military training exercise with the United States in the Amazon jungle when Lima learned it would involve a significant U.S. military presence, Foreign Minister Diego Garcia Sayan said Saturday.
