LOHNBETRUG AUF GROßBAUSTELLE DER
WOHNUNGSBAUGESELLSCHAFT MITTE (WBM)

Eine Baustelle im Zentrum Berlins. Auftraggeber die große städtische
Wohnungsbaugesellschaft WBM. Ein Unternehmen wird mit bestimmten Arbeiten
beauftragt, z.B. Abrissarbeiten. Statt eigene Arbeiter einzusetzen, wird auf dem
Papier ein Subunternehmen gegründet, das Arbeiter einstellt. Mehr als 20 Leute
afrikanischer Herkunft arbeiten zwei Monate, rechnen ihre Arbeit regulär auf
Stundenzetteln ab, am Ende werden sie nicht bezahlt.
Die Arbeiter haben sich an die Brandenburger Flüchtlingsinitiative (BFI) und an
die Antirassistische Initiative (ARI) gewandt. Die Wohnungsbaugesellschaft Mitte
und das durch sie beauftragte Bauunternehmen wurden angeschrieben und zur
Auszahlung der Löhne aufgefordert. In den Antworten wurde die Verantwortung für
die Lohnzahlung jeweils an die nächst niedrigere Ebene abgegeben. In
Wirklichkeit ist jedoch die ausstehende Lohnsumme höher als die gesamten
Überweisungen für diesen Auftrag an das Subunternehmen!
Von der BFI und der ARI haben die Arbeiter erfahren, dass sie ihren Lohn auch
einklagen können. Sechs von ihnen haben sich bereits dazu entschlossen und ein
Rechtsanwaltsbüro damit beauftragt. Das Verfahren läuft. Auf den Ausgang dieses
Verfahrens wollen weder die Arbeiter noch die eingeschalteten antirassistischen
Gruppen warten.

Wir haben uns entschlossen, die Geschichte öffentlich zu machen. Denn dieser
Fall ist kein Einzelfall.

BETRAYAL OF SALARY ON A BIG CONSTRUCTION SITE OF THE WOHNUNGSBAUGESELLSCHAFT
MITTE (WBM)

A construction site in the middle of Berlin. The project is run by a big
city-owned building company, WBM. A contractor is asked to do certain jobs, e.g.
tear things down. Instead of hiring their own employees, a subcontractor is
hired formally on paper to do the job!
More than 20 people of African origin work for two months, keep track of their
hours but do not get paid in the end!
These workers have turned to the Refugee Initiative of Brandenburg (BFI) and to
the Antiracist Initiative (ARI). The top level employer Wohnungsbaugesellschaft
Mitte and also the subcontractor have already received written requests to pay
the salaries. In their replies they kept delegating the responsibility to lower
levels. In reality the total amount of payments due is even higher than all
money that the WBM claims to have already paid to the subcontractor!
The workers have learned from the BFI and the ARI that they can also go to court
to claim their wages. Six of them have so far decided to press charges and have
hired a lawyer. The case is in process. But we don't want to wait!!!

We have decided to go public!
This case is not an isolated case, it happens all the time!

WE DEMAND THE FULL SALARY OWED TO THE WORKERS!!
WE DEMAND MINIMUM STANDARTS FOR ALL WORKERS INDEPENDENT FROM THEIR LEGAL STATUS
IN GERMANY.
WE DEMAND EQUAL SALARY FOR EQUAL WORK AND WE DEMAND THE SOLIDARITY OF ALL
COLLEAGUES.
