BRIEF UPDATE
Jal Satyagraha organised at Gunjari Village concluded yesterday after a written agreement among NBA, govt of MP and the dam promoter company NHDC. Each of all 22 oustees of Gunjari who have lost their homes and belongings in swelling water of Omkareshwar dam reservoir, got Rs 35,000 and a 5,400 Sq feet house plot. According to agreement, this assistance is neither a part of rehabilitation package nor refundable. Ousters will get extra relief decided by the court. All the Jal satyagrahis are hospitalised at district headquarter, Khandwa.
Meanwhile the indefinite Dharna and indefinite hunger strike of 5 persons at Khandwa is carries on. The hunger strike entered its 18th day today on 23rd June. The condition of the hunger strikers has further deteriorated. One of them - Indira Sagar affected Krishna Behan - is critical.
