BREAKING NEWS:
ARRESTS IN DELHI ­ DELHI DEMONSTRATION GROWING

Medha Patkar and three of the four other hunger strikers arrested at around 11:45 pm ­ midnight last night our time (IST) ­ moved to hospital ­ Medha in ICU ­ those resisting the arrest beaten - some 40-50 activists also arrested, and detailed in Parliament Street police station.

Civil activists in Delhi protest the police action, as being completely unnecessary given her medical condition and also unnecessarily rough.

TV stations report that the police are refusing to speak, other than saying they were concerned at her health condition.

All villagers and activists remaining in Jantar Mantar site singing and chanting in protest.

JNU (Jawaharlal Nehru University) students union and teachers' association announce that their members are now going to join the hunger strike.

Many more villagers from Narmada valley coming to Delhi to join the strike.

Other organisations from other parts of the country also announcing that they are sending people to Delhi to join the strike.
