Dear fellow community organizers and concerned peoples,

wtoCalgarians for Fair Trade would like to invite you to join us for a day of action on September 13 regarding the World Trade Organization meetings. From September 10-14, 2003, the 5th Ministerial meeting of the WTO will be taking place in Cancun Mexico. Calgarians for Fair Trade, a collective of local groups and individuals, will be holding an interactive and fun fair on September 13. This day of action will be filled with theatre arts, music, booths and activities in order to educate people about the negative and damaging effects that current and future free trade agreements have on our society.

As the threat of privatization of our basic services increases, and as free trade agreements gain more control to override local governments, we need to unite. By joining us on September 13, you are strengthening the opposition to free trade agreements and the way they alter our society.

On September 13 we are hoping to showcase our diversity of opposition and alternatives to the WTO. If your group would like to have a promotional booth on the day or if you have a message about free trade or fair trade that you would like to share, please contact Jim at jamesrobinson29athotmail.com

Check out the poster for more information on the day. Hope to see you on September 13.
In solidarity,
Calgarians for Fair Trade
