Updates

Our pages are being updated quite often, and there are two distinct types of changes:

  1. Text-based changes, and
  2. Changes to the HTML presentation.

In the overview in the left-hand frame it is possible to see when the page has last been updated. Also at the end of each text in the right-hand frame, the date of the last text update is displayed, so that when you print the page (which in any case is only possible frame by frame) you will always be able to find the date.

As soon as one of the texts itself is altered, this new version with text-changes will be inserted at the same place, that is; it will be made available on this page (see below).

With reference to the fact that text alterations, especially in the information database should be presented as clearly as possible for you, we have decided that each text should have a text-alterations-documentation relating to each page. All alterations are to be found here (presentation will not be taken into consideration) tabulated and chronologically arranged. Where necessary it will be considerably detailed, otherwise simply the main points will be listed. The relevant pages are to be reached via a mouse click on this symbol text alterations in the left-hand frame.

Downloading

It is sometimes helpful to have all parts of a document. For downloading therefore, we have decided to provide in each case the contents also, as formatted text. When a bitmap is visible in the left-hand frame this indicates that a formatted text is available for a particular page

A mouse-click on the bitmap download brings you to the desired page. Here you will find a table of available files. All files are compressed.

contents file date
presentación del proyecto, questionario prj-es.zip 27/02/1999
our public RSA-code key unl-rsa.asc 17/12/1998
our public Diffie-Hellman/DSS key unl-dh.asc 17/12/1998

One mouse click on the desired link in the table will suffice to download a file. At this point perhaps your browser (typically Netscape or Internet Explorer) will require a further command. In which case use 'save'. A dialogue will then appear where you can choose the path under which the file is to be saved.

Even if Windows 3.1 and 3.11 should slowly die out, we will continue to comply with the 8+3 system of short-file-names.

Text file format

Downloadable files will have the rich text format. The advantage is that they can be read by the most commonly used word-processing programs such as Microsoft Word, Lotus Word Pro, Star Writer, Word Perfect, etc. After downloading (and decompressing) you can simply open and print the file with the program available to you. In this way your online costs will also be reduced.

On the other hand the online version with its internal links may be very useful. In addition the contents of one of our documents may change after downloading. So you will have to decide for yourselves which is the best way to proceed. The possibility of downloading is simply an additional option.

Compressing files

To reduce disk space and to minimalise the downloading time we will compress the downloadable files, and we will use the 'zip' format, the file extension then is '.zip'. To decompress the files you will need an appropriate program. You can download most of them as shareware (programs you can try out for a period before registering):
