Courts and the fiscal service in Tayside and further afield are putting contingency arrangements in place should trouble erupt around the G8 conference at Gleneagles.
Courts in Dundee have already begun restricting the amount of regular business set down for days around the July summit.
A Crown Office spokesperson said, «Sensible business planning is taking place, as is normal around any major event.
«An appropriate level of staff cover has been put in place by Areas Fiscals who will, in turn, liaise with each other and with Crown Office during the lead up to and during the summit, to ensure that there is an appropriate response to any developments.»
A spokesperson for the Scottish Prison Service said they are making no special provision for any possible greater influx of prisoners.
The spokesperson said it is expected to provide accommodation on a day-to-day basis, irrespective of the circumstances.
A spokesperson for the Scottish forces involved in policing said planning for the summit is on schedule, with preparations in hand.
